On Wednesday- the Southwestern Warriors lost in the opening round of the Boys Sweet 16 Tournament at Rupp Arena, 68-44, to Warren Central.
In other Sweet 16 games: Corbin won, 50-40, over Estill County, Pikeville over John Hardin, 72-69, and Scott County defeated Trinity, 54-53.
Thursday games in the tournament: University Heights take on Campbell County at noon, followed by Fern Creek playing Boyd County. Tonight at 6:30 p.m., Oldham County plays McCracken County, and Apollo versus Covington Catholic. Don’t forget, the entire tournament is being broadcast live on WTLO AM 1480 & 97.7 FM.
On Thursday in other sports news – the Kentucky Wildcats (24-10) take on Davidson (21-11) in the opening round of the NCAA South Regional in Boise, Idaho.
UK leads the series, 1-0, having defeated Davidson, 75-55, on March 14, 1986 in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Tipoff for the game is at 7:10 p.m. on CBS.
